Midvale Mural Fest

Midvale’s Main Street is undergoing an impressive revitalization, and as part of that, that gentlemen at ALL CAPS Art Gallery organized the first annual Midvale Mural Festival.

We designed this mural with Aesop’s Fable of the Farmer and His Three Enemies in mind. If you look closely, details will begin to pop out—including the Fox, the Wolf, and the Hare. The background gradient was created with spray paint, and every detail and subject of this mural was painted in reverse—yes, we painted only the negative space! This meticulous and grueling process was sometimes tedious in the 100+ degree weather, but we loved getting to spend time in this charming downtown. We received so much help from a handful of fellow mural artists who came by our wall one evening to drink beers and chat. We loved getting to know them, it’s one of the best parts of participating in a mural festival! To thank them, Alli and I designed commemorative tee shirts of the event pictured below. 🤣

If you haven’t gotten to spend much time in the Midvale area, be sure to take a walk around. Between the street art, locally owned shops and delicious food, you’ll have an incredible day.
