Lagoon Kiddieland

Lagoon Amusement Park

Farmington, Utah

Established in 1899, Lagoon remains one of the regions largest Amusement Parks and immersive entertainment districts in the West.

Our clients were seeking colorful, creative murals to help decorate Kiddieland, and the surrounding area of the park. Inspired by circus characters, imaginative stories and whimsical visuals, we created five distinct murals for the park. Using a bold yet playful color palette, these series of designs are energetic, playful, and inspiring simultaneously. We invite you on an adventure to explore all the stories below!

A moonlit serenade

The first wall starts off with a dreamy personification of the Moon and Sun. The moon man is sitting on a mountain top, reaching out to the sun lady, shown in the center of a flower that is being offered by a cactus hand, further pushing the imaginative dialogue.

A carousel of delights

The second wall continues some carousel characters, a bull and an ostrich, as well as an introduction of bold patterning that is reminiscent of carnivals with a modern flair. On the far right end, a magician holds a magic hat, in which hops a little bunny. The scene is divided with a shooting star that helps transition into the next portion of the magical journey, the underwater world.

An underwater world

Our underwater world features a vintage diver riding a seahorse in an underwater landscape filled with a seaweed forest. The repeating motif of the flowing waves of color comes back in to break up the scene again. At the far right end we see the magician’s hat reappear with, not a rabbit, but a mystical jackalope with tree branch antlers hopping out of the hat.

A ride among the clouds

The last wall in this section of the park features a large circus tent with a graphic striped pattern. This piece could work as a photo op with people standing at the tent’s entrance. The sun in the corner of the design has been transformed into a ferris wheel, bringing back a fantastical quality to the park ride, accompanied by a rollercoaster that is cruising through the cotton candy clouds. A flying leopard caring a baby tiger is also featured flying towards the mountain tops to bring back the mural to the original dreamscape of the man on the moon.
